Growing up, he attended Berean Baptist Church in Elberta, AL, where he was able to gain his first experience in ministry through assisting with outreach, children’s church, and other ministries. As a sophomore at Pensacola Christian College (PCC), he surrendered to full-time ministry. After graduating with a degree in Pastoral Ministries, he continued studying for the ministry at Pensacola Theological Seminary (MA in Biblical Exposition).
Later while on staff at PCC, the Lord began to direct him into missions through short-term mission trips. After two mission trips to Australia, the Lord confirmed that He wanted Josh in Australia by speaking to Josh through Matthew 16:24 in a church service: “Then said Jesus unto His disciples, ‘If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up His cross, and follow me.’"
Josh began his ministry in Australia by working at Calvary Baptist Church in Bayswater, VIC, under Pastor Manny Mallari in January 2023 with the intent of learning ministry from an Australian point of view and for the purpose of being equipped for more in-depth ministry in the future. In 2025, Josh stepped out to plant a church in Footscray, VIC. After six months of meeting in Footscray for Bible studies, services, and other events with the help of some other believers passionate about evangelism, Graceway Baptist Church was officially born on 27 July, 2025, with a Grand Opening service. Josh and his wife Ira continue to serve at Graceway to minister to the people of Footscray and the surrounding area.
Ira was born to Christian parents in the Philippines where she received Christ at a Baptist school in September 11, 2003. As a twelve-year-old, she moved with her family to Sydney, Australia, where she lived for 17 years. During her time in Sydney, she was baptized and discipled at Bible Baptist Church, Liverpool, NSW, Australia. As she grew in her faith, more and more God gave her a desire to serve Him. This desire resulted in her being active in her church’s ministries such as music and children’s ministry as well as pursuing Bible/ministry training. Now she is happily serving at Graceway using her musical abilities, teaching experience, and computer skills to assist the church.
