This southernmost island in the West Indies is a multi-cultural country with the primary groups being West Indians, East Indians, and Orientals. Because of its divergent ethnic groups, Trinidad has a mixture of religions. The Spiritists, Roman Catholics, Hindus, Cults, and Muslims make up the predominant religious groups. Spiritism plays a major part in the life of the Trinidad people. Once outlawed by the government, today its evidences are in every corner of the island.
A real need exists in establishing fundamental independent Baptist churches that not only preach the Word, but also practice the Word of God. The door to Trinidad is open. Pray that a number of new missionaries will answer the call to reach this needy country.
