Your Next Step

Christ’s disciples followed His will but still found themselves in a storm. That’s when, above the roar of circumstances and surroundings, Peter called for clarity: if it be thou, bid me come (Matthew 14:28). At Jesus’ invitation, he was faced with a choice we all understand. Miracles do not happen in the boat. Only by stepping onto the waves can we walk with the Lord. It takes that next step.

Some want to serve while still clinging to false security. Actually, the disciples in the boat were just as dependent on the Lord’s protection as Peter was on the water. So, what are you waiting for? If God has placed a purpose before you, step out of the boat. It might be seeking a pastor’s counsel, serving where you are for now, or seeing the mission field for yourself. Whatever it is, BIMI wants to help you take your next step.

If God is stirring your heart toward missionary service, do not wait for calm seas or a comfortable transition. As missionary William Carey exclaimed, “Expect great things from God; attempt great things for God!” Step out of the boat this week—before your heart talks you out of obedience.
