We are the Demastus family, serving in Aberdeen, Scotland since August 2017. Once a nation that sent missionaries around the world, Scotland has now become not merely post-Christian, but in many ways pre-Christian once again. Over 60% of the population identifies as atheist, while the remainder is spread across a wide spectrum of world religions. Biblical Christianity represents only a small minority.

With a population of over five million, Scotland presents a great need for more independent Baptist churches committed to preaching the gospel, baptizing believers, and teaching them to observe all things Christ has commanded in His Word.

This is a challenging field. Many have been conditioned to resist the gospel, and hearts are often hardened. Yet it is both our calling and our burden to see Scotland reached for Christ. By God’s grace, we are labouring through:

• Faithful weekly services (Open Door Baptist Church, Aberdeen)

• Personal soulwinning, including door-to-door evangelism and street outreach

• Discipleship through Bible studies and structured training, including a Bible Institute

• The planting of indigenous churches that are self-governing, self-supporting, and self-propagating

• Training the next generation to have tender, responsive hearts to the gospel of Jesus Christ
