CONNECT BARBADOS sends forth the Bajan call for laborers. Bajan Creole is spoken by most Barbadians, though English is the official language of this island nation. Join the CONNECT BARBADOS Team as they are involved in soul winning and evangelization, preaching and teaching, and a Vacation Bible School in conjunction with BIMI missionaries Robert and Rhoda Smith who are establishing the St. Philip Independent Baptist Church.
Barbados is one of the southernmost islands in the Caribbean, and its culture is a blend of West African and British influences. The people there value both tradition and modernity. The climate is tropical and humid year-round. Because of its beauty, most think of Barbados as a vacation destination but it is home to more than 280,000 people who need the Lord. Though many of these claim to be Christian, their faith is ritualistic and works based. There is limited economic opportunity on the island, so Barbadians often move away once they reach adulthood.
CONNECT BARBADOS team members will fly into Bridgetown on August 18 and make their way into St. Philip, returning to the States on Tuesday, August 25. All costs including travel insurance are included. After paying the $100 deposit, participants will receive all needed information to help prepare them for the trip. Additional money may be brought along for gifts or souvenirs.
